An Overview of our Photography Services:


We offer three levels of image capture photography service: 1)"Talent Select" - you select Featured Talent, 2)"Assigned Featured Photographer" - Studio selects Featured Talent, and 3) "Young Talent": What it says, but very capable and affordable.

We serve the widest range of clientele of any wedding photography service in the city - from $1000 economic weddings by "Young Talents" to $6000 weddings by our "Talent Select" photographers (including various albums). A $6000 wedding of ours compares favorably to a $9000 wedding of the many pricier services in town. We are always the best value available at any level of service. And that comes with a rock solid record:

We have been in business over 22 years and done over 1500 weddings and we have never had a single complaint registered with the BBB. We may be the only studio in town with a comparable record with the BBB. It says we stand behind our work in a rock solid manner. We are also arguably #1 in bridal satisfation in the entire metropolitan area. "The Knot" - by far the leading wedding information entity in the US - has done the only independent surveys of bridal satisfaction ever done in the metro area the last two years and found us to be one of the top 5 studios in the city for positive feedback from brides both years. We are one of only three studios in the metro area so honored and the only studio that did not even advertise on "The Knot" during the survey years. We are one of the largest truly artistic wedding photography studios in the St. Louis area for a reason. Well over half our weddings are referrals from other clients. Our high quality, full service is custom tailored to each client - please give us a call and discuss your needs. We like to emphasize that we offer extremely high quality and complete photography services. Our prices are very reasonable when you consider all you get for our charges. Below are photography charges for individual talents (which you are welcome to meet with before contracting). Talent Select weddings include a "shooting assistant" second photographer at no extra charge. Also included in this charge is your complete set of catalogue style proofs and several copies of an index CD with the complete collection of resized images for viewing on a computer monitor or television. In addition, you get an elegant website with a selection of up to approximately 200+ images. You can see samples of these private sites under "private galleries" on our website. These are secure sites that we can password protect if necessary and from which a viewer can order prints. Our beautiful bridal albums, alternative 4x6 proof sets, finished prints, and even the large files on DVD are separate charges apart from the base photography charge, but they are also very reasonably priced. And these prices include everything - we do not try to hide the real cost of our services at any time. Some studios do.

Economic Alternative Photographic Services:

If you do not need to contract for a specific talent and like all our featured photographers, consider our "Assigned Featured Photographer" packages. These are always our featured, primary, most experienced photographers. This service can be especially useful for "off season" or weekday weddings - you will probably receive one of our "senior" or even "master" talents at a bargain price. "Young Talent:" If your budget is limited, this may be your best bet. These young photographers are often university degreed photographers. We select them carefully and they have the benefit of often having assisted us as shooting assistants so they know what they are doing. And they have the support of a proven organization offering full service including high quality custom album design.

Talent Select:

With "Talent Select" the client selects his/her individual artist to capture photographic images at their wedding. The client is invited to visit us at our office and review a great deal of finished work from these photographers and/or meet them individually - we can provide contact information. We also have an individual bios section on this website: "Our Photographers" and we have a great deal of their work sorted by photographer in our Gallery Section. This service also includes a "shooting assistant" second photographer at no additional charge - but note: shooting assistants should not be expected to take formal portraiture; lots of candids, details and artistic images, but not formal portraiture. If you need a second photographer that can also take formal portraiture, please discuss this with us.

Our photography talents are categorized by Master, Senior, and Associate based on their experience and various other factors - including demand for their work - not necessarily the overall quality of their work. These sample prices will give you a fair idea of what we charge, but the prices may actually be lower depending on several factors - visit us or call for a quote. Early payment discounts are available, etc. Call us up or email us with any questions including availability. Tell us what your target is - we'll see what we can do. We are the most reasonably priced truly high quality service in St. Louis. Most studios use purely computer generated corrections - we spend many hours manually reviewing and refining each image. That makes a huge difference if you ever want your large image files. Our proofing is quite refined, but not necessarily perfect - that is economically impractical for any studio - our images are reviewed and refined if necessary again when ordered as finished prints.

Talent Select Photography Service Charges

Highly Recommended Option: A 2nd assistant (non-shooting) can be added for $18.00/hour. This third person frees the two photographers to shoot full time and increases the overall journalistic/creative look to the photography.

                        4) Catalogue proofing of images beyond the target number will be charged at the rate of $35/100 images. We often go over the target number, which is conservative given our style and the quality of our shooting. We do not want to limit the proofing to an arbitrary number - all weddings are different. We assume you want to see all your images that turned out nicely. This policy will often result in a balance due upon pickup of the catalogue proof book of $35-$100. This policy does not apply to proofing on CD and Online only since there is no additional cost to us in that case.

"Assigned Featured Photographer" and "Young Talent" :

    If you like all our photographers, "Assigned Featured Photographer" is probably for you: it allows us to assign a specific featured photographer about 8-10 weeks prior to the wedding. CD and Online proofs are included, including the ability to purchase online. Catalogue proof sets are $25/hour extra while 4x6" proof sets are $50/hour extra. Our "featured photographers" are our primary, mature talents - our "young talents" are proven photography talents and have been second shooters at many weddings, but have relatively limited primary photographer experience at weddings. These young photographers usually have university degrees in photography or art/design. We select them carefully and they have the benefit of having assisted us often as shooting assistants so they know what they are doing. They have proven their talent and capabilities to us and we back them with our outstanding full service..

A Sample "Assigned Featured Photographer" Package:

Three hours of photography, a generous selection of images online for viewing and purchase, and digital proofs sets on CD for $900.00. Add $850.00 for a beautiful custom designed 10x10 coffee table bridal album with 30 pages for a total of $1750. This is for three hours of photography, the private website, and a beautiful coffee table style album.

Note on "Young Talent" and Sample Package:

We are approached by a lot of young talent that deserve to be represented and supported by a quality full service studio. If your budget is limited, this may be your best bet. You can get two great young professional photographers with a lot of seasoning by one of the best studios in the area for very little. These mostly have four year university degrees in photography or the fine arts. A sample package: three hours of photography by two photographers and a 30 page coffee table style album for just $1600.

    Online Viewing and Ordering:

    If you include a large bridal album in your photography contract this service is free!

    We will place a selection of up to over 150 to 200+ wedding images on a private website for you and make them available for online viewing and ordering. In the case of larger weddings more images can be placed on the site. The limited selection allows us to provide much greater quality in the image scans and makes viewing the images a joy instead of a chore for the average viewer. The service also includes password protection if so desired.


    Album Styles

    We know of no wedding photography studio at any price that produces albums of higher artistic quality than ours - ask around. Check out some sample designs. We consider this art on the same level of importance as our image capture (photography). All our graphic designers are four year degreed in graphic design or photography and are very experienced in this specialty. Our albums have artistic content and style far beyond that of most competitors. Even our traditional albums can be jazzed up (custom image enhancement) by our graphic designers for a minimal extra charge. Our album design and production team will also create custom albums from the work of photographers other than our photography group for the same prices, but there may be a color correction charge if necessary.

    Please note: All Coffee Table album prices include a custom design session that often lasts 2-3 hours where image selection, positioning, and artistic preferences are all discussed with one of our very talented university degreed graphic artists. Your artist in this regard will be an accomplished specialist, not a dilettante or faceless design factory worker using templates to design an album every couple of hours. From this initial session we design and produce the final product. An additional follow up session and design changes may be acquired for an additional charge.

    Print Pricing

    We highly recommend your using our services to do your final printing even if you have acquired the large files on DVD. We professionally review, refine, and print each image. This can make a huge difference - especially in large prints. Most retail outlets do not provide this quality.

    All bridal couples are entitled to a one time order of 4x6s at reduced prices: 100 for $ 2.50 each or 50 for $ 3.50 each.

    Travel

    Local Travel: Outside the core St. Louis Metropolitan area is charged at $100.00/hour on a prorated basis - 1/2 hour of travel is charged $50.00, for example. Sometimes it is better, even within the metropolitan area, to pay for travel time in lieu of the full photography rate if you have even a half hour of travel from one point to another planned within your wedding date. This can save you a substantial amount.


    An Opportunity to Bid on our Wedding Photography Services

    This is a temporary experiment to guage client reaction:

    We are now offering potential clients the opportunity to bid on our services: You put together a package for yourself and tell us what you are willing to pay for it, basically. You could also select one of the sample packages we have created: sample packages and bid on one of them by letting us know what the normal package $ amount is and what you are willing to actually pay for it. This is not like some bidding systems where you are commited if we accept your bid - but we expect you to bid in good faith.

    A Final Note About High Quality

    We are high quality because we don't cut corners:

    We are a group of knowledgeable professionals with a combined 100+ years of experience and various college degrees in photography or graphic arts, not dilettantes pretending to be capable of professional quality. You are encouraged to personally meet with your photographer any time and certainly at a final planning before the wedding.

    We can and do use real studio lighting (with gels when preferable).

    We review and correct each image individually in final review as well as using a professional lab for color correction - many studios use automatic color correction exclusively. We will further review and refine each image as it is ordered. We offer you a variety of proofing - not just online proofing (unless you request it).

    We custom design all our finished albums with you and in house by professional graphic designers - not out of state and with few design choices. Unlike most studios, you actually meet with your designer. We have full online capabilities, but we do it in a custom, quality manner - not as a substitute for providing you with face to face service by a knowledgeable office staff.

    We like to emphasize that we offer extremely high quality and complete photography services. Our prices are very reasonable when you consider all you get for our charges.
